Sinopse: Filmado inteiramente em locação na Escócia e na Hungria, The Eagle of the Ninth é uma adaptação do romance homônimo de Rosemary Sutcliff e se passa na sombria Inglaterra do século 2, mais precisamente no ano 140, duas décadas depois do desaparecimento total da Nona Legião nas montanhas da Escócia. O jovem centurião Marcus Aquila (Tatum) volta de Roma com o propósito de resolver o mistério da morte de seu pai, comandante da Nona Legião, e restaurar sua honra. Acompanhado apenas de seu escravo inglês Esca (Bell), Marcus ruma para a Caledonia para confrontar tribos selvagens e recuperar a águia de ouro perdida que servia de símbolo para a legião.
Rahim viverá um príncipe galês, temido líder de um grupo de guerreiros que perseguem Marcus e Esca durante toda a jornada. Sutherland interpreta Aquila, o tio de Marcus que se aposentou na Inglaterra; Strong vive Guern, um ex-soldado que tem informação vital sobre a Nona.
