A Showtime anunciou hoje que o ator Shawn Hatosy, que também faz parte do elenco de Southland, e a atriz Maria Doyle Kennedy (The Tudors, The Commitments) se juntaram oficialmente ao elenco da quinta temporada da série e seus personagens farão parte de um arco de vários episódios.
Hatosy vai interpretar um personagem complexo que formará uma relação única e interessante com Dexter. Já Kennedy irá interpretar uma babá irlandesa que será contratada para tomar conta de Harrison.
A emissora também informou que Julie Benz voltará a interpretar Rita numa participação especial no primeiro episódio da nova temporada. Rita ajudará Dexter a lidar com os sentimentos de perda e luto, emoções que ele nunca sentiu antes.

O ator Chad Allen assinou contrato para uma participação especial na 5ª temporada de "Dexter", que estreia dia 26 de setembro nos Estados Unidos.
Chad será um dos assassinos perseguidos por Dexter no novo ano, e aparecerá em pelo menos um episódio.
